st. thomas choir school
The St. Thomas Choir School is a tuition-free extra-curricular opportunity for youth that is committed to providing the finest musical education, nurturing the best examples of citizenship while carrying forth the centuries-old tradition of choral singing. The program is open for boys from age 7/8 to voice change and girls from age 7/8 to 18. All voice-changed boys and high school-aged girls are welcome to join the adults of the St. Thomas Choir.
Affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music in America, we adhere to the principle that children are capable of learning to sing the finest in choral music from all composers of all periods and in a variety of languages. Our choristers are not merely taught how to sing. Their time is divided between rehearsing the music to be sung in services and in concert, and learning music theory skills, vocal technique, and music reading. Children need not have had any previous musical experience in order to begin participation in the choir.
General Schedule:
Wednesdays
RSCM Training from 4:00-4:30pm
Rehearsals from 4:30-6:00pm
Sundays:
The choristers generally sing once or twice per month (usually one Eucharist and one Evensong).
Stay tuned for Fall Schedule.
