music at st. thomas
generations of tradition
St. Thomas Episcopal Church has maintained a tradition of excellence in sacred music
since its founding in 1842. Music at St. Thomas exists for the following:
-
Lead people in the worship of God
-
Proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ
-
Provide for the musical training and Christian formation for children and adults
-
Enrich the cultural life of the community
The music program at St. Thomas includes Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) affiliated choral ensembles (the St. Thomas Choir, the Treble Choristers, the Choral Scholars, and the Schola Cantorum), a music series for the community, a Summer music program for at-risk and disadvantaged youth, and the historically significant, restored pipe organ built by Ernest M. Skinner in 1929 (Op. 788).
Located in downtown Battle Creek, the music program at St. Thomas offers a variety of opportunities to utilize your God-given talents. We invite you to join us as we seek to serve God and God’s people through excellence in Music and the Arts. For more information, contact music@StThomasBC.org.
